Hi! I am Helene Dobson, an Australian with a family holiday home on the Greek island of Kastellorizo. This site is to document our family’s Kastellorizean recipes, many of which my grandmother Fani and I cooked together when she was in her eighties. Below right is a picture of 18 year-old Fani (left)  with her mother-in-law Triantafilia (Rose) Kalaf who passed on her skills to the young bride when she lived with her when first married.  Apparently she was a hard task master and insisted on perfection! My mother Rose Michelides is also an amazing cook but refuses to cook anything sweet – the baton has been passed to me and my daughter Claire Parthezius!
