Red Eggs for Easter

Start with a dozen hard boiled eggs. Buy a packet of red dye from somewhere like Kakulas Sister and mix as per instructions on packet.

Add vinegar to the dye

Very gently lower in the eggs

Gently boil for 2 minutes in the dye – turning once and as slowly as possible so they don’t crack

Shine with olive oil when cool
Do not refrigerate.

If you are not able to source any packet dye, it is possible to use a good quality food colour – about 20 drops to a cup of water gives a good intense colour.
